Raydon Wings Pure Classic Air and Auto Show - Raydon, Essex 1st September 2001
Review - Highlight of the Raydon Wings Airshow 2001 was the display by
Chino based two seater Grumman G-32A N100TF which, along with a single seat
Grumman F3F-2, had been brought over to the UK for that years Flying Legends.
Raydon was due to have the single seater but this had gone unserviceable and so
the two-seater came from Duxford instead, flown by The Fighter Collection's
chief pilot Pete Kynsey. In contrast to the grey skies of Legends, the
display at Raydon took place in blue skies and bright sunlight, and was the
Grumman's only other airshow appearance in the UK. The downside to this
event was that the increasing cost of putting on the display made this the last
Raydon show.
