Flying Legends - Duxford, Cambridgeshire 13th July 2008
Review - What can I say other than awesome! My first visit to a
Flying Legends show since 2004 and I realised how much I had missed the balbo of
Spitfires, P-51D Mustangs roaring over my head, the noise, the smell, the
spectacle. Added highlight this year was the visit by B-17G 'Liberty Bell'
all the way from the USA and to see this machine in the sky with 'Pink Lady' was
highly atmospheric. Let's hope that we see 'Pink Lady' in the air for many
more seasons to come. And what light! The sun at times shooting
through a cavalcade of cloud, starkly highlighting aluminium airframes against
the menacing sky, in particular allowing some dramatic shots of the A-26
Invader, P-40 Warhawk and P-39 Airacobra . Wonderful stuff!
